The trip was short but non-stop. We flew in on Monday picked up some gear and drove out to the salt flats to shoot, sunset, the stars rising, milky-way , and then sunrise. In short we didn’t sleep till we got on the flight home Tuesday mid day! I was out before the plane even took off. A bit surprised that we didn’t all crash in the terminal and miss the flight.
We got some great time lapse footage and I really enjoyed the trip. We had 7 cameras shooting simultaneous for each setup, which is getting easier to deal with each time I do this with Tony. But it was definitely great working with Alex and smoothing out the system to make sure everything was set up correct and timed right.
It’s been about 9 years since I was last out on the Bonneville Salt Flats. It was great to be out there and hope that it’s not another 9 years before I get to go out there again. Though we all agreed that a private charter flight right out to Wendover, NV might be worth the cost! The salt this time was a little damp and I remember the crystals being a bit more jagged, but that just may have been my mind making up what I remember.
Well I caught up on my sleep yesterday and am working on a few Coke images today and tomorrow, so hopefully will share those later.
